What’s New?

Our All-School Fun Day is Friday, May 24. NO lunch will be served. Dismissal is 12:00 with NO BUS. The morning will consist of an all school kick ball tournament in the grassy area. Come enjoy the fun and cheer on your children. We are still asking for volunteers to help throughout the morning. If there is inclement weather there will be no school that day.

ATHLETIC SURVEY  Please provide the following information to our Athletics Department so that we may develop and accurately plan sporting events for the 2019-2020 school year.  This information is necessary to obtain referees, reserve facilities, secure coaches, determine scheduling of extra games, coordinate volunteers, etc.  Thank you assisting us in developing a successful sports programs. 

Kohls Gift Cards – We have Kohls gift cards in $10, $25, and $50 denominations in the office. We are selling these for a 10% discount since you can only use these to buy merchandise and not pay for your bill. Also, these cards will not go towards your scrip bonus rebates.

Vacation  Bible School  Come Sea what St. Paul VBS has on deck for kids going into 3k-6th grade this summer!  We will be making waves through interesting experiments, making nautical crafts, singing songs, and learning how we are all ANCHORED IN CHRIST. Our ship sets sail July 29-August 2nd From 8:45-11:30 each day.  Registration is open online. You are shore to have a fun time!

Commencement & Graduation Service for St. Paul Lutheran School will be held on Thursday, May 23 at 6:30 PM.  Parents, students, and friends of our school are invited to join us as we conclude another school year. A reception for graduates families and friends will be hosted by the 7th grade class and held immediately following the service in our gym.  May God bless our graduates with success; earthly success through college and career, and heavenly success, as measured in step with our Savior.

What’s New?

Thank You! – On behalf of the all the teachers, Thank You to all the parents who made last week so special. Last week may have been Teacher Appreciation Week, but we are so blessed to have such supportive parents throughout the school year.

Also, on behalf of Mr. Gartner, thank you so much for your words of encouragement for Principal’s Day. I always tell everyone we have the best students, parents, and staff anyone could ask for and once again you proved my point. What a blessing it is to work for the staff, parents, and students here at St. Paul. Thank you!

Softball this Friday  Those 5th-7th graders who are playing in the softball tournament this weekend will eat lunch on Friday then be dismissed at 12:45 to play a 2 PM game.  Parents are asked to pick up their softball student at 12:45 and transport them to Brandt Quirk Park in Watertown for their 2 PM game.  Carpooling is encouraged.

Grades K-3 will be singing with the Lakeside choir this week Sunday.  Those students with last names beginning with M-Z should meet in the CHURCH by 7:40 AM to warm up with the choir.  Those students with last names A-L should meet in the CHURCH by 10:10 AM to warm up.  During the service, students will sit with their families and come forward at the appropriate time.  

Art Fair Reminder – All projects should be brought to school on Wednesday, May 15th, in order to be judged. They will be on display Thursday, May 16th, beginning at 5:30.

Also;

Parents and students are welcome to see the wonderful art projects each students made. The doors will open at 5:30. Then stay for the choir and band beginning at 6:00. The Lord has truly given each of the students a wide variety of talents!

Jr. Choir/Band members should wash their shirts after the concert this week and return those shirts to the box in their classroom by Tuesday, May 21st.

The program involves athletic development including flexibility, strength, foot speed, acceleration, deceleration, change of direction, and jumping. Incoming 9th grade runs from June 10 – July 26, Mon., Wed., Fri. 7:30 a.m.-9 a.m. (No workouts on Fri. July 5.) Join us as often as possible. Sign up by May 17.

Current and New Band Students are encouraged to register for summer private HALF HOUR lessons. A 6-weeks schedule starts June 13. Cost is $55 all summer. Lessons scheduled 7am thru day.  All students meet Thursdays.  Turn in forms ASAP.

What’s New?

Art Fair – Art fair guidelines were sent home last week. The students should bring their completed projects to school on Wednesday, May 15.

 MLC Day – Every year Martin Luther College has a day in which MLC and the Lutheran grade schools celebrate the many blessings our pastor and teacher training college give to us. This year, we would like to put together a brief video and send it up to MLC. We are asking the students to help us out by wearing a specific color shirt next Monday, April 29. Here are the following colors:

Grades 2,5,8 – Red shirt
Grades 1,4,7 – White shirt
Grades K,3,6 - Black

 Only 4 Weeks of School Left!  Where has the time gone?  It seems like only last week we opened the doors for another school year.  For those of you who agreed to pay school fees in monthly payments, please double check your totals now.  Call the office if necessary & finish your obligation by May.  Thanks!  If unusual circumstances exist, call School Board.  Band payment   Final band payment for the year should be paid to Mr. Pierce in May.  If you are unsure if you have a balance, call the office, 648-2918.

 Current and New Band Students are encouraged to register for summer private HALF HOUR lessons. A 6-weeks schedule starts June 13. Cost is $55 all summer. Lessons scheduled 7am thru day.  All students meet Thursdays.  Turn in forms by April 26.

 4th Grade and new student Band Parent Meeting Thursday, May 2 at 6:30 in the school library.  Mr. Pierce will meet potential new students & parents to explain lessons & instrument rental and schedule summer lessons.

 Yearbook Order Forms – Yearbook order forms are being sent home today. If you would like to purchase yearbooks, please return the form with payment by Friday, May 10.

 Early Bird Registration forms are being sent home today to help us plan as best we can for the 2019-2020 school year. Please return the forms to the office by Friday, May 10.  Each class with 100 % return rate by May 10 will receive a special prize from the principal.

 Preschool Program - On May 23rd at 10:30 the preschool students will have their end of the year program. The families are encouraged to attend to see all they have learned this year. A light lunch will follow at no cost to the families. Look for a Sign Up Genius in the next few days to RSVP by Friday, May 3 for the meal.

 Repeats

 The annual Lakeside Math Competition for 5th-8th graders will be held on Wednesday, April 24, 2019.  The competition begins at 4:00 and usually wraps up around 5:30.

 Grades 6-7 Sing Confirmation Examination Service – Grades 6-7 will be singing on Wednesday, April 24 at 6:30. 

 Call  The Lord led us to extend a call Mrs. Rachel Kanter to be our 5th grade teacher. Please keep her and her family in your prayers as she deliberates as to where she would best serve.

 K-8 Extra footwear – We are asking that all students bring an extra pair of footwear to school for recess. It really helps in keeping the rooms and church clean when we can minimize the muddy traffic areas.
