Preschool Open House/Registration

You are invited to our annual open house on Thursday, January 31 from 6:00-7:00 p.m. Come check out the classrooms and see the teachers.  Prior to the open house preschool registration will be as follows:

January 1 – St. Paul members may begin enrolling for the 2019-2020 school year.
January 21 – Families already enrolled in the program may enroll for the 2019-2020 school year
January 31 – Open enrollment for everyone

Slow Down!  Please use extreme caution when driving through the parking lot.  Before school and after school, watch carefully for children and slow down.  Please remind caregivers and grandparents.  We want to keep our children safe.

Room Parent Gift Money  This is a reminder to all the room parents that there is money collected to help offset gifts and parties. If you need some of the money please see Mr. Gartner.

Help Needed!  After the Children’s Christmas service on Sunday, we need to get all the chairs we rented back to Lakeside and set them up for their Christmas concert later that evening. If you can give 20-30 minutes of your time to help us out that would be great help! Thanks in advance!

Basketball Etiquette Reminder – Parents of younger children, if your child is not in the gym watching the game, we ask that they be supervised by a parent. The hallway is too crowded to have students running the hallway. Come cheer on the teams.

Volunteer Opportunity  Our Power Hour program, held every Wednesday from 9:30-10:30 AM could use some extra hands.  We serve 60-75 children on a weekly basis and sure could use some extra help.  Retired?  Grandparent?  Call and ask about this opportunity, 648-2918.

Advent Service Reminders  If your child will be attending the 3:30 Advent services, please pick your child up in the following rooms. Grades K-2 will be held in the 1st grade room, Grades 3-5 will be held in the 3rd grade room, and grades 6-8 will be held in the 6th grade room. If possible, we ask that you pick your child up by 3:15 from those rooms. No student will be allowed to sit without an adult. If a parent is not available and the child would like to attend church, a staff member will sit with the child toward the front of church. If this is the case, we ask that you make arrangements prior to the service. We ask that you make sure your child knows were they are to go before they get to school.

We also ask that if you are attending the supper afterwards that you do not let your child run in the gym during this time. With the amount of people coming and going, especially the elderly, this could very well be a safety hazard.

Band/Jr. Choir shirts have been handed out to ALL band students and most of the Jr. Choir.  We have a shortage of shirts and will order a few more to assign later. Sizes are limited so they’ve been assigned to the best of our ability.  Too big is better than too small.  If your child has a huge issue with the assigned shirt, please let Miss Radue know.   The band members will wear their shirts for the upcoming Christmas band concert.  Jr. Choir members will wear them for the April Fine Arts Fair as well as the May band/choir concert.  Please keep it in a safe place. The care instructions are included on a sheet with the shirt.

Christmas Service Dress Rehearsal – We will once again have a dress rehearsal on Friday, December 14 at 8:15. If you cannot attend the actual Christmas service and would like to hear the students, feel free to join us at 8:15 in the gym.

Winter is almost upon us!  Here are a few weather-related policies to keep in mind…

All parents from 3K-8th grade are welcome and encouraged to attend and be a part of what is happening at St. Paul.  We discussed several ways in which the PTL could help out the school along with fun events the school could put on for both the students and parents. Save the date for our next meeting, Tuesday, December 11@ 6PM. The meetings are limited to an hour so you can get back to your family.  All Parents, Teachers and Staff are welcome and encouraged to join us. Childcare will be provided. Thank you once again to everyone that was able to help brainstorm ideas!

Band Reminder – Band students please remember to bring your band instruments next Monday, November 19. This will be their band lesson day and group band.

2nd Quarter Mission Offerings – Our 2nd quarter mission offerings will go towards the WELS Military Services. This service by our synod provides spiritual support to our armed forces throughout the world. If you know of anyone in our armed forces who would be interested in this service, I will attach the website for more information and support. https://wels.net/serving-you/christian-life/special-ministries/military-services/

Food Collection Surrounded by bountiful harvests & blessed with many material possessions, our school children will have opportunity to express their “thanks” by participating in a community food drive. Students may bring canned goods or un-opened non-perishable items to chapel on Fridays in addition to regular offerings. We will be displaying the offering in the lobby during November, distributing the food to the local food pantry by December.  St. Paul families urge the sharing of God’s blessings.

Jefferson County Health Department is offering free flu shots to school-age children with or without insurance.  A parent or legal guardian must accompany anyone under the age of 18 to sign permission.  No appointments are needed.  They will be at Lake Mills High School on Thursday, November 15 from 4-7 PM.
