Advent Service Reminders  If your child will be attending the 3:30 Advent services, please pick your child up in the following rooms. Grades K-2 will be held in the 1st grade room, Grades 3-5 will be held in the 3rd grade room, and grades 6-8 will be held in the 6th grade room. If possible, we ask that you pick your child up by 3:15 from those rooms. No student will be allowed to sit without an adult. If a parent is not available and the child would like to attend church, a staff member will sit with the child toward the front of church. If this is the case, we ask that you make arrangements prior to the service. We ask that you make sure your child knows where they are to go before the get to school.

We also ask that if you are attending the supper afterwards that you do not let your child run in the gym during this time. With the amount of people coming and going, especially the elderly, this could very well be a safety hazard.

Cherub Choir: The students will stay in their classrooms after school this Wednesday to prepare for singing in the 3:30 service. The children should wear church attire. They may wear it to school or change at the end of the day. After the service the students will go to the library to be picked up. Thank you!

Band/Jr. Choir shirts have been handed out to ALL band students and most of the Jr. Choir.  We have a shortage of shirts and will order a few more to assign later. Sizes are limited so they’ve been assigned to the best of our ability.  Too big is better than too small.  If your child has a huge issue with the assigned shirt, please let Miss Radue know.   The band members will wear their shirts for the upcoming Christmas band concert.  Jr. Choir members will wear them for the April Fine Arts Fair as well as the May band/choir concert.  Please keep it in a safe place. The care instructions are included on a sheet with the shirt.

Christmas Service Dress Rehearsal – We will once again have a dress rehearsal on Friday, December 14 at 8:15. If you cannot attend the actual Christmas service and would like to hear the students, feel free to join us at 8:15 in the gym.

Winter is almost upon us!  Here are a few weather-related policies to keep in mind…
* If the Lake Mills Public Schools are closed due to inclement weather, St. Paul’s School will also be closed.
* If school is closed (3K-8th grade), childcare will also be closed.
* If there is a late start (usually 10AM), 3K, and morning 4K, and before school care are cancelled. School children can arrive and childcare will open1/2 hour before school begins.
* If there is an early dismissal (usually 12:30PM) childcare will close ASAP (as soon as arrangements are made and safe departures can be provided.)

  • A One Call notification will be sent out even before any TV or radio stations place St. Paul on “closed” status.

  • The NBC stations in Madison (ch.15) and Milwaukee (ch.4) will be the TV stations notified of a school closing.

You can check the Lake Mills Public School District website or tune-in to the following radio stations or NBC TV for prompt notice of school delays/cancellations:

Room Parents – Room parents that need money for various parties or teacher gifts, see Mr. Gartner and he will give you the needed money

Available for Purchase   We have several Kohl’s gift cards ready for purchase.  You can use them as a gift or to pay off your own Kohl’s charge card.  There are $10, $25, and $50 denominations.  Stop in the office to make your purchase.

Many children exchanged names with their classmates for the room Christmas parties, which will be held Friday, December 21.  It has been the practice to limit the amount spent for the gift of a classmate.  The limit will be $5.00 for all children.

Christmas Gifts are planned for school staff (cooks, custodian, secretary).  Parents desiring to contribute, send monetary gifts to classroom teacher in an envelope marked “Staff Christmas” by Friday, December 14.

Reminder: Dismissal is at noon on Friday, December 21.  There is no lunch and no pick up bus at noon.  Those using childcare are reminded that childcare closes at noon that day.  Please make the proper arrangements.

Looking Ahead

Children’s Christmas Service, Mark your calendars

Our Children’s Service is held Sunday, Dec 16 at St. Paul’s gym/auditorium with all children (K-8) participating in both 8:30 & 10:30 services. 3K & 4K Preschool will be involved just at 10:30 worship.

Illness Policy  It is in the best interests of your child and the other students to keep your child at home when he or she is ill. Please keep your child at home if he/she shows any of the following symptoms in the previous 24 hours: Fever, nausea, vomiting, skin rash or sores, inflamed or swollen eyes, diarrhea, cough or sore throat, headache, head lice. After a fever, your child’s temperature should be normal without medication for 24 hours before returning to school. If your child becomes ill while at school, you will be called and asked to take your child home.

PTL Recap - We held our second PTL meeting for this school year. Our goal is to continue to get more parents involved. All parents from 3K-8th grade are welcome and encouraged to attend and be a part of what is happening at St. Paul.  We discussed several ways in which the PTL could help out the school along with fun events the school could put on for both the students and parents. Save the date for our next meeting, Tuesday, December 11@ 6PM. The meetings are limited to an hour so you can get back to your family.  All Parents, Teachers and Staff are welcome and encouraged to join us. Childcare will be provided. Thank you once again to everyone that was able to help brainstorm ideas!
