Once a first-time application for a WPCP voucher is made, it is strongly recommended that the family meet with a Lakeside representative for verification. Note: applicants renewing vouchers for years two, three, or four do not need a verification meeting.
Verification usually takes 15-30 minutes. During the meeting, the family will present these documents to Lakeside:
· If the family used the DPI method for financial eligibility, bring pages 1 and 2 of the 2018 1040 form. The form must be signed and dated;
· If the family is using the DOR method:
o bring the Social Security card(s) if financial eligibility with the state is not already established; or
o New for 2018: the state allows applicants applying with the DOR method to enter Social Security numbers on their own. If doing this, the Social Security cards are not needed for the verification meeting; and
· A residency document. The document must show the legal name of at least one applicant adult, the address must match exactly with the address entered for the application, and a date must be displayed on the document that falls between November 1, 2017 and April 20, 2018. Typically, a utility bill is the best and easiest to verify.
Lakeside will copy these documents at no cost to applicants.
First-time applicants are encouraged to set up an appointment for verification. Simply call Lakeside and ask to speak to Principal Grasby
For more information how the WPCP may serve your family, contact Principal Grasby at Lakeside (920-648-2321).
In light of everything that has been happening in our schools lately, it is a good time of the year to examine our safety procedures. I recently reviewed footage of our security system and noticed “cracks” in the system. The codes that each family have are set-up to work only between the hours of 6:30-7:30 and 3:15-6:00. All entry between 7:30-3:15 is to be done through the front doors. If a parent is coming into the school to volunteer they need to sign in and wear a volunteer badge. The students and teachers have been instructed not to open the back doors during the course of the day as this breaks the security during the school day. Please, do not be offended when a teacher or student does not open a back door for you since the security system was created in conjunction with the police department for the optimal safety of all students. Please share this information with anyone who may pick up your children.
Also, remember if you are coming in the school for more than drop off or pick up, you must sign in. Parents should not be wandering the halls during the school day. The hallways should remain a place free of distraction. If you need to pick up your child for an appointment, please stop by the front desk and Mrs. Happel will page for your child or alert the child’s teacher that you are here for pick up.
Wednesday Evening Meals –We are asking for your help in regards to the Wednesday Lenten suppers. We are asking that the gym area be kept as a dining hall for the evening and not a gymnasium. People are coming back and forth, including the elderly, and we want to keep it as a safe environment for everyone. If students are running around and playing tag, they are not watching for those coming and going. Thank you for your help.
Yearbook Photos: Please, please email any pictures you have for the yearbook to email@example.com . We need sports, music, classroom candids like parties and field trips, Science sensations, Science Fair, Spirit Week, etc.
I have sent emails to the student emails if they showed interest in the beginning of the year. We had a small meeting yesterday. This week Tuesday 3/6 and Thursday 3/8 we will have beginning work days for the yearbook. We will meet from 3:15 until 4:00. Please try to attend one of those dates in order to learn the yearbook program.
