What’s New?

Fine Arts Fair Information has been distributed to all students in grades 4-8.  If your child is interested in performing a vocal, piano, or string piece, he/she must return that form with the necessary information by February 8th.  All band students will be signed up by Mr. Pierce for their band instrument solo.  The Fine Arts Fair takes place on Saturday, April 6th.  The joint band/choir concert will be on Sunday, April 7th.  Our exact concert time (either 1:30 or 4 PM) will not be available until late March or early April.  Any questions should be directed to Miss Radue.

Camp Phillip information flyers and registration forms are being sent home next week.

Camp Bird for Lutherans - Registration is now open!

Registrations are now being accepted for Camp Bird. Camp Bird for Lutherans is a youth camp for children in grades 5-8. It is located near Crivitz in Marinette County on Sand Lake. The price for each child is $150 per week. Swimming, canoeing, boating, hiking, challenge course, kickball, volleyball, archery, handicraft, campfires, Bible study, games, camp songs and many other activities are waiting for you this year! Three weeks are available in July: 

*Sunday July 7 – Friday, July 12
*Sunday July 14 – Friday, July 19   
*Sunday July 21 – Friday, July 26

Call Received  Our 5th grade teacher, Alana Enger, has received a call to teach middle grades math at Divine Savior Lutheran School in Doral, FL. Please keep the Engers in your prayers as she deliberates the two calls she now holds.

Call Received  Our 6th grade teacher, Andy Dais, has received a call to teach grades 5&6 and serve as athletic director at St. Paul Lutheran School in Howards Grove, WI.  Please remember Mr. Dais and his family in your prayers as he deliberates the two calls he now holds. 

Retirement  Mrs. Gail Mateske, our 3rd grade teacher, has announced her retirement at the end of this school year.  May God bless her as she finishes the school year and transitions to life outside a called worker.

Summer Band  8th grade band students, have you signed up for Summer Band? A registration form was sent home with your child.  Check their band music folder if you have not seen it.  Also, if there are other students in 8th grade that are not band students but would like to be a part of color guard or honor guard, sign up at the following link:

2019 Warrior Winter Dance Clinic for K-8 will be held Sunday, February 10 from 1-3:30 PM.  Registration forms are in the kiosk, or go to Lakeside’s web site and look under K-8 at

K-8 Extra footwear – We are asking that all students bring an extra pair of footwear to school for recess. It really helps in keeping the rooms and church clean when we can minimize the muddy traffic areas.

Building Open Forums- There will be a voters’ meeting Sunday, January 27, when a vote will be taken to go forward with the building project. All are encouraged to attend!

Lakeside Visual Arts Fair Grades 5-8  The LLHS Visual Arts Fair is being held Sunday, January 27, in connection with the LLHS Pops Concert.  It offers an opportunity for the children in Grades 5-8 to use and display their artistic abilities while improving their art skills.   Thursday, January 24 - completed art projects need to be in the classroom to insure that all of the final, necessary entrance requirements have been met.  Thank you!

Annual Voters’ Meeting is Sunday, February 3 at 11:45 AM. Committee reports, highlights of ministry programs and election of officers is the business of the day.

St. Paul Parent Teacher League will host a Family Movie Night on Sunday, January 27 from 2-5 PM in the gym.  PTL will provide popcorn and water.  Bring your sleeping bags, blankets, or pillows to sit on.  Children must be accompanied by an adult.  Movie will begin promptly at 2:30.

Preschool Open House/Registration

You are invited to our annual open house on Thursday, January 31 from 6:00-7:00 p.m. Come check out the classrooms and see the teachers.  Prior to the open house preschool registration will be as follows:

January 1 – St. Paul members may begin enrolling for the 2019-2020 school year.
January 21 – Families already enrolled in the program may enroll for the 2019-2020 school year
January 31 – Open enrollment for everyone

Basketball Etiquette Reminder – Parents of younger children, if your child is not in the gym watching the game, we ask that they be supervised by a parent. The hallway is too crowded to have students running the hallway. Come cheer on the teams.

YEARBOOK PHOTOS: As we begin another school year we would like to collect photographs for consideration for the yearbook.  Please email pictures to our committee at Photographs of sporting events, music events, class parties, school events, every day classroom events, etc. would be appreciated.
