HELP PLAN OUR 125TH ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION  This year we're celebrating 125 years of God's grace to us as a congregation here at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Lake Mills. Here are some of the things we have in mind for this fall:

  • a weekend with a special worship service and cookout
  • an updated history of the last 125 years
  • possibly a mission trip to the Apache churches in Arizona since it's their 125th anniversary this year as well.

If you'd like to help with the planning, talk to one of our pastors.

CHURCH OFFICE HELP: DATA ENTRY  Since last October we've been implementing a new church database. We're hoping that later this year we'll be able to open it to all our members so that you can see an online directory and other features. But first, there's a lot of work to do to get it ready. For more details talk to Terri Happel or Laurie Strache or to one of our pastors. Since the new database is cloud-based, you could probably do the work from your home computer.

COUNTING CONTEST  The results of the church library Easter candy guessing contest are in!  Winners can see Mrs. Enger for their prizes.  Thanks to all who participated!

  • Ages 0-10:  Will Stuebs - guess: 57 (Actual count: 57)
  • Ages 11-16: Christian Collins - guess: 142 (Actual count: 118)

Did You Know? – Technology Board

Part of our ongoing communication series

  • There are several ways technology is being used here at St Paul. They include:
    • Monthly displays of the WELS Connection
    • Displays of the verses for all communion hymns
    • Weekly recording of church services
    • Uploading of church services to YouTube
    • Creating the weekly sermon video and audio tracks for our website
    • Updating the HVAC system weekly to support the various meetings and events at St. Paul
  • While some of the items above may actually be the responsibility of other boards or committees, they highlight the various ways technology is being used here at St. Paul to help fulfill our mission.
  • Feel free to contact any of the Tech Board Members, or Pastors, if you would like to volunteer to be a part of any of the activities noted above.

LAWN MOWING  We are in need of volunteers to mow the church lawn.  Use of the equipment requires operators to be age 18 and over.  Sign up lists will be available at church for mowing the large areas, the fenced childcare playground area and for spraying weeds.  The more volunteers we have, the more the tasks can be shared.

CITY PARK CLEAN UP AGAIN = GREAT WAY TO CONNECT TO OUR COMMUNITY! St. Paul has been invited to take part in giving back to the community of Lake Mills by attending the annual Rock Lake Environmental Clean Up again this year, held on Saturday, April 28th from 9AM to noon. Teams from our community will be cleaning up Bartel's Beach, Tyranena Park, Ferry Park and Korth Park in preparation for the summer. The Rock Lake Improvement Association is once again organizing the event, and providing pizza for lunch, and was extremely appreciative of our participation last year.  If you don’t recall, we had 26 members attend in 2017.  Please consider joining us again, or for the first time, and using this opportunity to connect socially with Lake Mills residents that may not know Jesus. Please contact Paul Enger (paul.enger@yahoo.com, 608-509-5531) with any questions or to sign up.  Thank you!

"Where is the basket for donations?" That was the question many asked on Easter Sunday when the teens helped serve the Easter breakfast. Well a new model for support is being presented. The goal forward for this important ministry is not only to connect our youth with the Word and each other, but to the members here at St. Paul. There are new opportunities to show your support, like sponsoring a child or levels of support (from prayers to participating in events, etc.) Please contact Erika Haar (920-544-2226) or Adrienne Stuebs (920-988-2225) if you want to learn more. If you would like to show your support today, there is a plexiglass donation box located near the information rack. This will be left out over the next months as we make plans for the Youth Rally in June. You can also use the "Special Offering" envelope in the back of your packet and designate it "Youth".

LUTHER PREPARATORY SCHOOL presents their Children’s Theater performance of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, on Saturday, April 28th at 7:00pm and Sunday, April 29th, at 4:00pm.  All seats are General Admission in the Luther Prep Auditorium. Ticket prices for adults and high school students are $5, K-8th grade are $4, and pre-school and under are FREE. A family rate of $10 is also available.
