ST. PAUL LUTHERAN SCHOOL

August 2018

WELCOME to the NEW SCHOOL YEAR!

Our purpose remains “to assist parents in nurturing and equipping their children as Christ’s disciples for this life and the life to come.”

Our privilege is partnering with parents: encouraging our children with Scripture through daily devotions, in-depth Bible studies and weekly worship. In addition all the academic subjects of elementary school are taught from a Biblical perspective. We strive that extra-curricular programs reflect faith/faithfulness among God’s family.

Our pleasure is to serve the Lord and you, His people, this new school year. We join you in praying for God’s guidance that ours is the best Christian education program offered PreK-8th in 2018-19.

It All Began With God

As we enter into another school year, our theme for the year will revolve around Genesis 1:1,”In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.” Each day, your child will be taught everything in light of God’s Word so they will be better equipped to give an answer to those who question their faith and beliefs. It is here at St. Paul that your child’s foundation will be strengthened daily so they will be able to be bold and be strong. Each Friday our chapel devotion will focus on a question intended to strengthen the students’ faith.

This is the first of a three part series stressing the topic of apologetics (defending their faith) for elementary school children. More than ever our parents and children are being bombarded by questions regarding their faith. And whereas we are assured that faith comes solely through the Holy Spirit in God’s Means of Grace, there arise situations where we are asked to give a reason for the faith we profess. As 1 Peter 3:15 declares, “Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give a reason for the hope that you have.” It is our hope and prayer that each child’s faith grows and matures as they daily hear God’s Word throughout the year.

OUR FIRST SCHOOL DAY is Wednesday, August 22. Children arrive between 7:30 & 8 am. Opening Service will begin at 8:10 AM.  Parents, join us for fellowship time after the service by the welcome center.  Introduce yourself and meet other parents.

SCHOOL FORMS PACKETS are ready for pick-up. You may pick them up next to the large bulletin board outside church.
