FUNERAL SERVICE for Harvard Luetzow was held Tuesday.  May God comfort his family.  Altar flowers have been provided by his family.

 ANNUAL MEETING  The annual voters’ meeting will be held on Sunday, February 3 at 11:45 a.m.  Elections of several church council and board positions are part of this meeting.  Board Chairmen, please send your article for the annual report to thappel@stpaullakemills.org by January 16.

 CALL RECEIVED  Our 6th grade teacher, Andy Dais, has received a call to teach grades 5&6 and serve as athletic director at St. Paul Lutheran School in Howards Grove, WI.  Please remember Mr. Dais and his family in your prayers as he deliberates the two calls he now holds.

 NEW WEDNESDAY MORNING BIBLE STUDY: ROMANS  In the letter he wrote to the Romans, the Apostle Paul laid out the central truths about our sin and about our justification through God's grace in Christ. Join us on Wednesday mornings at 9:00 am in the office conference room as we study this book of the Bible together.

 ALTAR FLOWERS  If you are interested in purchasing altar flowers for a specific Sunday, please sign up on the flower chart which is posted on the bulletin board in the lobby.  There is also an  information sheet to be filled out regarding flowers on the table outside the library.  

 CONNECT GROUPS SIGN UP IS HERE!  Connect Group Bible Study Groups are being planned for the weeks of January 27 through March 16.  This is a great way to start 2019! What are they? They are people who grow together in friendship and in Christ, all while meeting in groups of 8-10 and discussing God’s Word once a week in hosts’ homes.  Sign up is January 13-20 on the sheets in the entryway. There are options for some groups to accommodate children. Sign up today!

 BUILDING PROJECT UPDATE, OPEN FORUMS, & VOTE   Our building committee and a number of subcommittees have been working on the details of our new sanctuary. It's time for all of us to start discussing the project in detail together. Renderings (both exterior and interior) and the current floor plan are posted in the gathering area.

 On Sunday, January 13th, from, 9:15-10:15 our building committee plans to present the project in detail that goes beyond the renderings. That will be followed by an open forum, on Sunday, January 20th, from 9:15-10:15. Our church council has scheduled a special voters' meeting for Sunday, January 27th at 11:45am to discuss and decide whether we move forward. If the vote is yes, groundbreaking would be tentatively scheduled for April 1st. 

 NEW MEMBER WELCOME:  There will be a welcome potluck meal after the late service today for all those who joined our congregation during 2018.  All members are welcome to attend. The main dish of chicken will be provided.  Members are asked to bring a side dish of vegetables or salads, and/or dessert. Beverages will also be provided.

 OWLSwill meet January 15, at St. John Lutheran Church in Juneau starting at 1:30 PM. Rev. Jonathan Bilitz from Madison will speak about The Wisconsin Lutheran Student CHAPEL and how it offers a safe place for University of Wisconsin students with the message of Christ.
