SUNDAY SCHOOL Due to Spring Break, there will be no Sunday School today. Sunday School will resume on March 31.
LENTEN SERVICES continue this Wednesday at 3:30 & 6:30 PM. A light supper will be served between services. Praise Singers will serve soup on March 27, Youth Group on April 3. If your group would like to serve April 10, please call the office, 920-648-2918.
GROUND BREAKING SUNDAY Praise be to God, we are breaking ground for our new sanctuary on Sunday, March 31, 2019. The ceremony will take place after the late service. Following the ceremony there will be a congregational meal in the gym. During that time members can visit displays in the lobby/gym area about the new sanctuary. We also hope to unveil the “wish list” of items that need to be funded outside of the building budget. Some of those items will be the chancel furniture, organ, pews, and chairs, as well as other items for the gathering area, chapel, and coffee nook. Make plans to attend and celebrate this amazing event as we look forward to building our new sanctuary.
HELP NEEDED FOR EASTER We are looking for someone to help coordinate the Easter Breakfast on April 21st. Everything that will be needed for the brunch will be ordered and volunteers are already being chosen. What we need is someone to coordinate the morning and assembly of the meal. Pastor Tomhave did it last year, but will be preaching this year for the festival services. Please contact Pastor Tomhave or call the office if you can help serve in this way.
"GO AND MAKE DISCIPLES"... SO LET'S GO! Starting on Sunday, March 31st, a new Bible study/discussion will be offered by Pastor Tomhave with topics such as: Making it personal? How to start a spiritual conversation? Sharing the Gospel understandably! How to handle hot topics! Come explore God's Word and be encouraged to be his witnesses.
Kindergarten –Mrs. Laura Ozminkowski has accepted the call to be our Kindergarten teacher for next year. May God be with her and her husband as they make this transition.
3rd Grade – Mrs. Megan Proeber has accepted the call to be our 3rd grade teacher for next year. Her call would also include help in the athletics department. May God be with her as she makes this transition.
5th Grade – The congregation extended a call to Miss Deanna Rahn to be our 5th grade teacher next year. Her call would also include help in the music department. Please keep her in your prayers as she deliberates where to serve next school year.
6th Grade – The congregation voted on February 10 to enter the Principal Training Program. This program would give us a graduate teacher that MLC has selected to be a good candidate for a future principal in one of our schools. He would be mentored by Mr. Gartner for three years. At the end of the third year he would go back to the assignment committee for a principal call.
LWMS MISSION DOOR OFFERING A door offering will be received today. This money will go to the mission in the Philippines and home mission equipment fund.
GIFTS AND TALENTS Since the implementation of our new database we are now able to easily identify, connect, and coordinate members of our congregation and apply those talents to serve our church family. We are encouraging every member to review the survey and identify where you have an interest in serving in the future. To complete the survey pick up a paper copy outside the church library.
EASTER FLOWERS If you are interested to purchase flowers for the altar area for Easter, there are order forms on the table outside the library. Please fill it out and place it, with payment, in the flower box. Orders must be received by April 3. Flowers may be picked up after the late service Easter Sunday.
SHARING GIFTS AND TALENTS TO GLORIFY WORSHIP: Join Us! Do you think about helping in some way at Church, but just don’t know how or when? Altar Guild is an organization that aids and beautifies our Chapel and services through the gifts of many members’ talents. The time investments are annual or seasonal. The three main components of our group are: Decorating (Banners, Flowers, Thanksgiving, Christmas, Easter); Lenten Meal (Plan, Prep, Serve); and Communion (Set-Up; Serve; Clean/Store). If you think this could be an opportunity for you or know a fellow member who you think would be interested, please contact Tara Topel at email@example.com or 920-605-0112.
LAWN MOWING (Spring really is coming!) We are in need of volunteers to mow the church lawn. Use of the equipment requires operators to be age 18 and over. Sign up lists are available at church for mowing the large areas, the fenced childcare playground area and for spraying weeds. The more volunteers we have, the more the tasks can be shared.
SOFTBALL Once again churches of our Central Conference are organizing a church softball league. Games are played on Wednesday evenings May 29-August 1. If you are interested in organizing this team or would like to play on a team, there is an organizational meeting at St. John’s, Waterloo, 413 E. Madison St. in Waterloo on March 30 at 9 AM. For more information including league rules, please visit webpage: www.welschurchsoftball.weebly.com.
SAVE THE DATE - DIRECTORY UPDATE The photography dates for our 2019 church directory are May 30-June 1. If you're new here at St. Paul or missed out on having your picture taken last year, we'd love to include you. If you had your picture taken for the directory last year, we can still use that picture for the next three years, though you can have it updated it you'd like. More information will be coming later this spring.
WELS WOMEN'S MINISTRY CONFERENCE Join Christian sisters from across the synod to be nurtured, encouraged, and equipped to live out your calling exactly where God has placed you.
