Mrs. Allison Byers

Mrs. Allie Byers was born on in Valdosta, GA and grew up mainly in the Midwest. She graduated from Martin Luther College with a Bachelors Degree in Elementary Education and Early Childhood Education. After graduating, she taught Kindergarten and served as Early Childhood Director at St. John's in Watertown, WI. She now teaches 3 year old preschool and serves as Early Childhood Director here at St. Paul. She is blessed with her wonderful husband, Jeremy, and their son, Oliver. She enjoys repurposing old furniture, painting and spending time outdoors with her family.

Mrs. Donna Hackbarth

Mrs. Donna Hackbarth currently teaches 4K at St. Paul Lutheran School. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Education degree from Dr. Martin Luther College in New Ulm, MN in 1990.  She received an assignment to teach in Waupaca, WI.  After her first year of teaching, she married her husband Todd.  They were called to teach in Des Moines, Iowa. After her first child was born, she stopped teaching to take care of her family.  In 2008, she was called to teach 3K and 4K at St. Paul.  She feels very blessed to be able to share the love of Jesus with Jesus’ little lambs.

Donna and Todd live in Lake Mills, Wisconsin.  They enjoy spending their free time with their family kayaking on Rock Lake, hiking, and playing basketball.

Mrs. Kelly Tomhave

Mrs. Tomhave grew up in New Ulm, MN where her dad was a Professor at Martin Luther College.  After Graduating from Martin Luther College with a degree in Elementary Education, she was assigned to be a Dorm Supervisor at Martin Luther Preparatory School in Prairie du Chien, WI.  She taught a computer class, coached and lived in the girls' dormitory for two years.  She taught first and second grade in Milwaukee, WI while her husband, Doug, attended Wisconsin Lutheran Seminary in Mequon, WI.  Doug was assigned to start a new church in Verona, WI where they lived for 12 years and had their four children.  They moved to Hampton, GA to restart a home mission.  She became the director of Hope Lutheran's preschool and taught 3-4K for 5 years.  She now teaches 3-4K here at St. Pauls since moving up to Lake Mills.  She loves to travel with her family for fun!

Mrs. Dawn Neuberger

Mrs. Dawn Neuberger grew up in Lake Mills, WI. She attended UW Whitewater and graduated with a degree in elementary education. Her first teaching assignment was at Dodgeland Middle School in Reeseville, WI
where she taught grades 6-8 with an emphasis in mathematics and coached volleyball. After her first child was born, she stopped teaching full time to stay home and care for her family. In 2009 she was blessed to help start the child care program here at St. Paul. She enjoys sharing God’s word each day. Dawn is married to Dan and they have been blessed with three children, Allison, James and Julia.

Mrs. Penny Hall

 Mrs. Penny Hall was born and raised in Yale, Michigan. After attending Michigan Lutheran Seminary for high school,  she pursued a degree in dental hygiene. For 27 years, she worked as a dental hygienist in Port Huron, Michigan. She married her husband, Tom, in 1990 and together they raised 3 girls. 

However, in 2012, her husband took a job in Wisconsin so her family relocated to Johnson Creek. At that time, she started as an afternoon aide for St. Paul. She has been serving in the 3-K classroom for the past few years and thoroughly enjoys meeting all the children and their parents.

Mrs. Sue Filter

Sue Filter grew up in Racine, Wisconsin.  She attended U.W. Oshkosh where she received her Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work, and met her husband, Scott.  She now has 3 daughters and 6 grandsons.  She has been a part of St. Paul Church and School for over 25 years and feels so blessed to be able to help with the little ones!

 Mrs. Filter enjoys traveling, spending time with family and friends, and sometimes enjoys her new hobby, golfing.

Mrs. Rebecca Bauer

Mrs. Rebecca Bauer graduated from Dr. Martin Luther College, New Ulm, Minnesota, with a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education. She has had the privilege of serving God’s people in the teaching ministry at Trinity, Hoskins, Nebraska, at Apostles in San Jose, California, at St. John in Waterloo, Wisconsin, and here at St. Paul, Lake Mills. Her joy in working with children is in finding creative and fun ways to help children learn and grow.  She loves to encourage and motivate children in their daily walk with Jesus through song.  While most of her work in education has been done at the Kindergarten level, this year she is very excited to be working in first grade as a teaching assistant. Rebecca’s husband Paul teaches and coaches at Lakeside Lutheran High School.  They have been blessed with three children and eight grandchildren.”
